Katy and Stuart are proud to welcome you to The Chequers Inn, a friendly country pub in the delightful and historic village of Berrick Salome, South Oxfordshire.

 

The Chequers is a beautiful brick and flint pub, with a large garden and children's play area and good sized car park.

 

Berrick Salome is a peaceful, friendly village, deceptively close to larger towns such as Benson, Watlington, Wallingford and Thame. Close to the Chilterns, we are located in an area that is popular with walkers and cyclists, enjoying the many footpaths and routes criss-crossing the countryside. We are dog and horse friendly.

 

The Chequers is a pub where great food, good drink and a warm welcome are guaranteed. We pride ourselves on providing good quality, rustic-refined food and friendly, efficient service in a family-focused environment.

 

We aim to exceed your expectations, whether you pop in for a quick pint of one of our well-kept cask ales or lagers or linger for a long, relaxing lunch. We provide the ideal venue for a romantic meal, impressing business colleagues over lunch or a celebratory dinner with friends.

 

All our food is freshly prepared on site by our chef, who is proud of his rustic-refined menu. We aim to use local produce wherever possible, including our Barter at the Back Door scheme (you'll have to call in to find out more!)

 

Why not join us for a special occasion? Our Granary, seating 30 guests, provides the perfect function venue for a special event or party, with its stunning vaulted ceiling and twinkling lights.

 

On warmer, sunny days you can dine alfresco, enjoying our delightful and relaxing garden, complete with children's play area and Aunt Sally throw.

 

When the weather is cooler, come inside for a cosy-up by one of our fuel burning stoves. Books and magazines are available and Wifi for those who have to work! You are welcome to a game of darts, dominoes or bagatelle, or one of our numerous board games.
